So, to all you music junkies out there, you're going to love this. Today, I begin the epic journey of 101 blog posts, each featuring an awesome song, from the oldies, to the piping hot number ones. This list isn't going to be in any particular order, it's just going to be a profile of the artist and why this particular song of their's qualifies as one of my 101 favorites.

100 Years by Five for Fighting on Grooveshark 1. I'm going to start this with a song that is my current obsession, and a total heart breaker. For those of you who haven't heard of the fabulous singer songwriter, Five For Fighting, I would seriously suggest checking him out. His song, 100 Years, is one of the greats. It talks all about life, and love, and how everything is just crazy, but it's all so worth it. This song is particularly important to me because it makes me reconnect with my emotional side, which I don't often do, and it does this in a way almost no other song can. The chorus goes, "15, there's still time for you, time to buy and time to lose. 15, there's never a wish better than this when you've only got a hundred years to live." Those words made me fall in love with this song. For the obvious reason, I'm nearly 15, and this song talks about how we should let ourselves waste time having fun. For the not-so-obvious reason, this chorus taught me that even though life is short, it's okay to make mistakes, and dreaming is the best thing you can do, because it gives you something to hold onto.
John Ondrasik, American singer-songwriter, whose stage name is Five for Fighting.
Besides the fact that this guy makes killer music, he's an amazing person as well. He has made five albums called CD the for Troops, which are free music downloads available to our troops, veterans and active duty men alike.
